Las denominadas «Fiestas de Interés Turístico» se enmarcan dentro la actividad de fomento ele la Administración como títulos honoríficos. En Extremadura se encuentranreguladas en el Decreto 152/1997, de 22 de diciembre, sobre Fiestas de Interés Turístico de Extremadura. Este tipo de reconocimiento tiene por objeto poner en valor aquellos certámenes, fiestas o acontecimientos que· se celebren en el territorio de está Comunidad que ofrezcan una especial relevancia tea! desde el punto de vista turístico y supongan una valoración de la cultura y de las tradiciones populares. Sin embargo, se trata de una normativa que con el paso del tiempo ha quedado desactualizada. Estas líneas, pretenden poner de manifiestoalgunos de los aspectos más conflictivos, que son susceptibles de mejora, de la regulación actual.

The so-called «Festivals of Tourist Interest» are framed within the promotion activity of the Administration as honorary titles. In Extremadura, they are regulated by Decree 152/1997, of22 December 1997, on Festivals of Tourist Interest in Extremadura. The purpose at this type of recognition is to highlight those events; festivals or events held in the territory of this Community which are of particular real importance from a tourism point of view and which enhance the value of popular culture and traditions. However, this legislation has become outdated with the passage of time. The aim of these lines is to highlight some of the most conflictive aspects of the current regulation, which could be improved.
