    Buscando la merced real, parte de los protagonistas de las defensas de La Coruña y Lisboa en 1589 reivindicaron sus acciones ante los Consejos de Estado y Guerra. El análisis de estos textos permiten comprender el valor dado a estos acontecimientos en el marco de sus carreras y el reconociento que generaban estos argumentos en la administración real. A partir de ahí se puede analizar el valor diferente y variable que imprimía a los servivios cada escenario y cada momento, la tipología de los peticionarios y las consecuencias que tuvo para ellos apostar por la defensa de a Monarquía.

    Seeking royal mercy, some of the protagonists ofthe defences of Corunnaand Lisbon in 1589 vindicated their actions before the Councils of State and War. The analysis of these texts allows us to understand the value given to these events in the context of their careers and the recognition that these arguments generated in the royal administration. From this perspective it is possible to analyse the different and variable value that each scenario and each moment gave to the services, the typology of the petitioners and the consequences for them due to their commitment to defend the Monarchy.
