Resumen de Arte, cultura y dictadura: balance historiográfico

Este ensayo tiene por objetivo llevar a cabo una revisión de los estudios históricos que se han realizado en Chile sobre el arte, la cultura y su relación con la política antes y durante la dictadura civil-militar. Observamos que desde comienzos del siglo XXI este tipo de investigaciones ha aumentado exponencialmente y su foco ha estado puesto en la década de 1960, el periodo de la Unidad Popular y las formas de resistencia artístico-cultural en contexto dictatorial. Sólo recientemente se ha historizado la institucionalidad cultural del régimen iniciado en 1973 y discutido en torno a la configuración de una nueva hegemonía bajo el paradigma autoritario-neoliberal.

The aim of this essay is to review the historical studies that have been carried out in Chile on art, culture and their relationship with politics before and during the civil-military dictatorship. We note that since the beginning of the 21st century this type of research has increased exponentially and has been focused on the 1960s, the period of the Popular Unity and the forms of artistic-cultural resistance in a dictatorial context. The cultural institutionality of the regime initiated in 1973 has only recently been historicized and discussed in terms of the configuration of a new hegemony under the authoritarian-neoliberal paradigm.
