Litigiosidad en torno a las reformas de Carlos III y Carlos IV en algunas cofradías valencianas de la Ribera Alta, L’Horta Nord y Valencia

    La existencia de fondos documentales de cofradías y hermandades en archivos parroquiales y municipales valencianos permite valorar su importancia a través de su incidencia a modo de conflictos en procesos judiciales de otros fondos archivísticos, como los judiciales del Archivo Diocesano de Valencia, el Archivo del Reino de Valencia y el Archivo Histórico Nacional (fondo Real Consejo de Castilla). En este último se acumuló una serie de procesos de apelación superior a la del Tribunal de Obras Pías de la jurisdicción eclesiástica diocesana y a la de la Real Audiencia de Valencia, cuyos documentos se conservan en el Archivo del Reino de Valencia. Esto sucedió así porque las reformas de nueva planta suprimieron la jurisdicción del Real Consejo de Aragón, que pasó al de Castilla. Se plantea en este texto un primer nivel de análisis de la conflictividad de cofradías y hermandades en tres periodos, como fueron los gobiernos de Grimaldi y Floridablanca en el reinado de Carlos III, y el de Godoy en el de Carlos IV, caracterizados por las reformas derivadas del expediente general de investigación de cofradías y de una primera desamortización de propiedades.

    The existence of documentary collections of brotherhoods and brotherhoods in Valencian parish archives allows to assess their importance through their incidence as conflicts in judicial processes of other archival funds, such as the judicial ones of the Diocesan Archive of Valencia, the Archive of the Kingdom of Valencia and the National Historical Archive (Royal Council of Castile). In the latter, a series of appeal processes were accumulated superior to that of the Court of Pious Works of the diocesan ecclesiastical jurisdiction and that of the Royal Audience of Valencia, whose documents are preserved in the Archive of the Kingdom of Valencia. This happened because the reforms of the new plant suppressed the jurisdiction of the Royal Council of Aragon, which passed to that of Castile. This text proposes a first level of analysis of the conflict of brotherhoods and fraternities in three periods, such as the governments of Grimaldi and Floridablanca in the reign of Carlos III, and that of Godoy in that of Carlos IV, characterized by the reforms derived from the general file of investigation of brotherhoods and a first confiscation of properties.
