  • To a random sample of practicing speech therapists a questionnaire was submitted concerning the extent to which counseling procedures were applied in their speech‐therapy programs. In addition the therapists were asked to indicate the amount of formal counseling training they had received at the academic level. Results show that virtually all speech therapists sampled apply counseling procedures in their work but that relatively few have received adequate formal training.
