  Las urgencias pediátricas hospitalarias tienen una gran importancia en el desarrollo de la actividad asistencial de un hospital. Esta zona de atención al paciente pediátrico puede estar integrada dentro de la unidad de urgencia hospitalaria, donde se atenderán tanto a adultos como a pacientes pediátricos, teniendo zonas claramente diferenciadas o pueden ser zonas hospitalarias separadas del resto en las cuales solo se atiende a pacientes infantiles4. El primer paso al llegar a urgencias es pasar por triaje donde clasificará al paciente según su gravedad6.

  Pediatric emergencies in hospitals affect directly to the development of assistencial care that take place in hospital centers. The area where children are attended can be part of the same hospital emergency service. If this happens, there would be two clearly distinct areas, one to attend adults and the other one for children. On the contrary, pediatric emergency services can be separate from the rest and an exclusive area for children. The first step when arriving at emergency services is to go through triage where the patient will be classified according to their severity.
