Resumen de Carmichael in Tallahassee

Elizabeth Flory Phifer, Dencil R. Taylor

  • “Traitor” is only one of the many epithets hurled at Stokely Carmichael, especially since his visits to Havana and Hanoi. Those who heard him speak in Nashville and Tallahassee, however, had no doubt concerning his power with both white and Negro audiences. Carmichael spoke to a predominantly Negro audience at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida, Sunday, April 16,1967. The following reactions come from two white members of the audience.
