The author interprets the book by Romagnoli on the experience of participation implemented by Bassetti at the end of the 50’s as an opportunity to explore the evolutionary and transformative dynamics between consultation and negotiation. The article then examines the “democratizingµ function that participation can play against the enterprise’s private powers and analyses some regulations on corporate goals and forms of governance that were recently enhanced with this aim at the national and European level.
