  Caso clínico: varón de 50 años, alcohólico desde hace 15 años y fumador de 20 cigarrillos/día. Diagnosticado de cirrosis hepática desde hace 10 años, en tratamiento y con varias hospitalizaciones en los últimos meses para realizar paracentesis evacuadoras, varices esofágicas ligadas e insuficiencia renal crónica.

  Presenta distensión abdominal, dolor abdominal y epigástrico desde hace 24h.El cuadro se acompaña de náuseas, mareo, cefalea y dificultad respiratoria, por lo que acude a su hospital.

  En urgencias presenta una presión arterial de 140/85 mmHg, frecuencia cardiaca 75 lpm, frecuencia respiratoria 22 rpm, saturación de oxígeno 92% y temperatura axilar de 36,5ºC. Le canalizan una vía periférica y le hacen pruebas de laboratorio y Rx. Tras los resultados, el paciente es ingresado en planta para completar estudio y realizar tratamiento evacuatorio del líquido ascítico, primeramente.

  Clinical case: 50-year-old male, alcoholic for 15 years and smoker of 20 cigarettes/day. Diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver for 10 years, under treatment and with several hospitalizations in recent months for evacuation paracentesis, ligated esophageal varices, and renal failure chronicle.

  He has had abdominal distension, abdominal and epigastric pain for 24 h. The picture is accompanied by nausea, dizziness, headache and respiratory distress, so he goes to his hospital.

  In the emergency room, he presented with a blood pressure of 140/85mmHg, heart rate 75 bpm, respiratory rate 22 rpm, oxygen saturation 92% and temperature of 36,5ºC. They channeled a peripheral line and performed laboratory tests and X-rays. After the results, the patient is admitted to the ward to complete the study and perform evacuation treatment of the ascitic fluid first.
