Resumen de Anticuerpos anti-ß2-glucoproteína I y lupus eritematoso sistémico

  Fundamento: Estudiamos la presencia de anticuerpos anti-ß2-glucoproteína I (anti-ß2GPI) en pacientes con lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES) relacionándolos con anticuerpos anticordiolipina (AAC) y manifestaciones clínicas asociadas a anticuerpos antifosfolípido (AAF). Pacientes y método: Se incluyó a 63 pacientes con LES y 54 controles. Se determinaron anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI mediante enzimoinmunoanálisis. Resultados: Un total de 25 (40%) pacientes con LES y un control (2%) tenían anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI (p < 0,001); 17 pacientes con AAC (43%) tenían anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI y 4 (20%) sin AAC los presentaron (p < 0,05). Existió asociación entre trombosis y presencia de AAC, pero ésta no fue significativa entre trombosis y anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI. Conclusiones: Los anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI son más frecuentes en el LES y más prevalentes en pacientes con AAC. Existe asociación entre trombosis y AAC, pero la asociación entre trombosis y anticuerpos anti-ß2GPI no fue significativa.

  Background: We aimed to study the presence of anti-ß2-glycoprotein I antibodies (anti-ß2GPI) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) analyzing their relationship with anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL). Patients and method: 63 patients with SLE and 54 healthy volunteers. Detection of anti-ß2GPI antibodies was performed by ELISA. Results: 25 (40%) patients with SLE and 1 (2%) control had anti-ß2GPI antibodies (p < 0.001). 17 patients with aCL (43%) had anti-ß2GPI antibodies and 4 patients (20%) without aCL were found to have anti-ß2GPI antibodies (p < 0.05). There was an association between thrombosis and aCL. However, the association between thrombosis and anti-ß2GPI antibodies was not significant. Conclusions: Anti-ß2GPI antibodies are more frequent in SLE and they are more prevalent in patients with aCL. There is an association between thrombosis and aCL but no significant association between thrombosis and anti-ß2GPI antibodies.
