El objeto de este trabajo es la latinización lingüística de los territorios del sur de Hispania que en época imperial conformarán el conventus Gaditanus (actual provincia de Cádiz y la costa andaluza mediterránea). Se trata de un área muy influida por las ciudades hispano-fenicias y en la que la lengua feno-púnica pervive hasta comienzos del siglo I a.E. Presentaremos los principales elementos de juicio con los que contamos para la introducción del latín y la desaparición del feno-púnico, centrándonos en la epigrafía de la producción, los testimonios de escritura cotidiana y la epigrafía pública, incluyendo la numismática. Por último, se plantean que factores pudieron influir en el proceso de cambio lingüístico.

The aim of this work is the linguistic Latinization of the territories of southern Spain that in imperial times will make up the conventus Gaditanus (current province of Cádiz and the Andalusian Mediterranean coast). It is an area heavily influenced by the Phoenician cities and in which the Phoenician-Punic language survived until the beginning of the 1st century BCE. We will present the main elements of judgment that we have for the introduction of Latin and the disappearance of pheno-Punic, focusing on the epigraphy of production, the testimonies of everyday writing, and public epigraphy, including numismatics. Finally, we take into consideration what factors could influence the process of linguistic change.
