    Se estudia, por primera vez, el desarrollo postnatal del núcleo mamilar lateral en rata (núcleo hipotalámico) para lo cual se han empleado técnicas morfométricas y estereológicas a lo largo de las siguientes edades: 0N, 2N, 4N, 8N, 16N y adulto.

    Los resultados obtenidos se relacionan con la proliferación y migración celular, así como con la diferenciación celular que no concluirá hasta el estado adulto.

    Estos datos morfofuncionales apoyan el inicio de estudios biocomportamentales relacionados con este núcleo, componente del sistema límbico, a lo largo de su desarrollo postnatal.

    It is studied, for the first time, the postnatal development of the lateral mammillary nucleus in rat (hypothalamic nucleus) for which it has been wed morphometric and stereologic methods through the following ages: 0N, 2N, 4N, 8N, 16N and adult.

    The results obtained, are related to the cellular migration and proliferation, so as to the cellular differentiation which will not finish until the adult state.

    These morphofunctional data support the beginning of bio-behaviour studies related to this nucleus, limbic system component, through its post-natal development.
