  • Austin's Chironomia is often associated with a mechanical approach to delivery, and his system of notation for gesture is the feature of the work that has received most attention; but the book is neither mechanical nor limited to the notations. Austin presents a complete analysis of delivery. Chironomia is an excellent introduction to the study of the entire elocutionary movement.
