  • The quality of Peter Marshall's pulpit oratory moved him quickly and steadily to the top of his profession. His success has stimulated inquiry concerning his rhetorical methods and resultant style. Was he an innovator and unique in his preaching as his wife implied in her books, or had his methods been discovered, taught, and practiced for many years before he employed them?
