El caso de «los mendigos de Bussi» y los dilemas éticos de la prensa catamarqueña durante el mes de julio del año 1977

    En este artículo nos proponemos, por una parte, describir en forma sintética la redada de “limpieza” de mendigos tucumanos que fue ordenada por el general Antonio Domingo Bussi en el mes de agosto de 1977. Por otro lado, describiremos algunas de las prácticas de espontánea solidaridad comunitaria con quienes habían sido abandonados en las serranías catamarqueñas y, además, pondremos atención en el análisis del rol contrastante que asumieron los medios de prensa gráfica local en la cobertura y valoración de estos hechos.

    In this article we propose, first of all, to describe a case of state violence directed against subjects in vulnerable situations that occurred in mid–July 1977 in the province of Tucumán. In that month, the military dictatorship carried out a series of raids in which they arrested 25 beggars who were later abandoned in the Catamarcan mountains. On the other hand, we are going to remember some of the acts of solidarity carried out by the residents of Los Altos to help the survivors of a police operation that had been carried out in the framework of State terrorism. Thirdly, we will analyze the position that the Catamarcan press assumed in the coverage of the events and, finally, we will propose a brief reflection on the place that the commemoration of this episode occupies within the memory policies in Catamarca and Tucumán.
