En el artículo se analiza la cuestión de la construcción de la ciudadanía que resulta central en el marco de la crisis política, social, económica y cultural que afecta con especial énfasis a los países de nuestra región y el papel que le corresponde a la escuela en la misma, en la perspectiva de un nuevo sujeto ciudadano. La compleja y profunda construcción sociohistórica de la ciudadanía es fundamentalmente pedagógica ya que opera sobre la conformación del imaginario y de los hábitos y actitudes que expresan distintos roles y posiciones dentro del sistema político y la sociedad civil. Estas acciones se despliegan en el ámbito de la educación informal, pero fundamentalmente en el de la educación formal y sistemática.

In the article one analyzes the question of the construction of the citizenship that is central within the framework from the political crisis, social, economic and cultural that affects with special emphasis the countries of our region and the paper that corresponds to him to the school in the same one, in the perspective of a new citizen subject. The complex and deep sociohistórica construction of the citizenship is fundamentally pedagogical since it operates on the conformation of imaginary and the habits and the attitudes that express different rolls and positions within the political system and the civil society. These actions unfold in the scope of the informal education, but fundamentally in the one of the formal and systematic education.
