Resumen de Gerald L. K. smith and the Huey P. long funeral oration

Howard Dorgan

  • In 1935 the assassination of Huey P. Long violently upset the political equilibrium of Louisiana. This essay explores the means by which an orator, Gerald L. K. Smith, attempted to use this event to his advantage. In addition it is a study of an epideictic oration which assumed much of the nature of a deliberative address.
