Inteligencia Artificial en el nivel Posgrado: Usos y retos como estrategia didáctica y como herramienta de investigación

    Las nuevas tendencias educativas “Educación 4.0”, considera que la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) juega un papel importante pues es parte de la revolución digital en la que nos encontramos. Entre sus beneficios, se puede mencionar que su uso puede permitir la personalización del aprendizaje, pues promete ofrecer contenido personalizado y adaptado al ritmo del aprendizaje y estilo de cada estudiante, pero también facilitaría el acceso a diversos materiales educativos digitales, e inclusive dar seguimiento automatizado a proceso educativo como organización de materiales educativos, entre otros. Ahora bien, en los estudios de nivel posgrado, además de estos beneficios la IA es una herramienta para la investigación pues es un auxiliar en el análisis de grandes conjuntos de datos, tanto en la metodología cualitativa como cuantitativa, lo que permitirá identificar correlaciones de manera más eficiente y ofrecer nuevas perspectivas de análisis y síntesis de la información. Sin embargo, su uso aún está en desarrollo, pues la mayoría de los docentes, aún están en fase de capacitación para su incorporación en el campo educativo. Algunos docentes tienen una resistencia a su incorporación, no solo en cuanto a la parte técnica, sino incluso abarcando preocupaciones éticas, culturales, resistencias al cambio, temor a la sustitución del docente, además, las bondades que promete la IA dependerán de una serie adecuada de instrucciones conocidos como “prompts” que serán las condiciones léxicas o indicadores específicos para que la IA pueda completar cualquier tarea y que en ocasiones aún no se saben generar. Por lo anterior, se inició con una investigación en el Instituto Politécnico Nacional, México, (proyecto SIP20231557), con el fin de identificar y comprender en opinión de especialistas del tema, cómo ir incorporando la IA al campo de nivel superior y posgrado. A partir de entrevistas en profundidad, se presentan las principales opiniones y opciones de uso de la IA tanto como estrategia didáctica como herramienta de investigación en dichos niveles educativos.

    The new educational trends “Education 4.0” considers that Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays an important role as it is part of the digital revolution in which we find ourselves. Among its benefits, it can be mentioned that its use can allow the personalization of learning, as it promises to offer personalized content adapted to the pace of learning and style of each student. Still, it would also facilitate access to various digital educational materials, and even provide automated monitoring, to the educational process as the organization of educational materials, among others. Now, in postgraduate level studies, in addition to these benefits, AI is a tool for research as it is an assistant in the analysis of large data sets, both in qualitative and quantitative methodology, which will allow correlations to be identified in a way more efficient and offer new perspectives of analysis and synthesis of information. However, its use is still in development, even the majority of teachers are still in the training phase for its incorporation into the educational field. Some teachers have resistance to its incorporation, not only in terms of the technical part, but even encompassing ethical and cultural concerns, resistance to change, and fear of teacher substitution, in addition, the benefits that AI promises will depend on an adequate series of instructions known as “prompts” that will be the lexical conditions or specific indicators so that the AI can complete any task and that sometimes are not yet known how to generate. Therefore, it began with research at the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico, (project SIP20231557), in order to identify and understand, in the opinion of specialists on the subject, how to incorporate AI into the field of higher and postgraduate level. Based on in-depth interviews, the main opinions and options for using AI are presented both as a teaching strategy and as a research tool at these educational levels
