Resumen de Desafíos del metaverso en el ámbito sanitario

  Objetivos. Examinar la evidencia publicada para explorar el uso del metaverso en el ámbito sanitario, así como su potencial aplicabilidad.

  Material y métodos. Se desarrolla una revisión sistemática de artículos publicados en español e inglés, relacionados con el metaverso en el ámbito de la salud, sin restricción de fecha. Para la búsqueda de los artículos se consultaron las siguientes bases de datos: Ovid (Medline), EMBASE, Cochrane, Scopus, WoS, IEEEXplore, CINAHL, Google Scholar y DART-Europe. Dos revisores independientes evaluaron la calidad metodológica de las publicaciones empleando instrumentos del Joanna Briggs Institute. Se realizó la extracción y síntesis de los artículos encontrados con calidad metodológica.

  Resultados. La búsqueda inicial identificó 26 artículos. Se excluyeron 10 por estar duplicados, otros 5 fueron descartados por no estar relacionados con el ámbito sanitario, y por último se eliminaron otros 7 por ser de baja calidad metodológica. Finalmente se han incluido cuatro artículos.

  Conclusiones. El metaverso plantea grandes retos tanto en la salud como en la gestión sanitaria. La mezcla de experiencia real con el mundo virtual es disruptiva y transformadora, y trae consigo nuevas oportunidades y desafíos para la transformación dinámica de las organizaciones. Por ello, es de vital importancia seguir estudiando estas prácticas y su impacto en los sistemas sanitarios.

  Objectives. Examine the evidence published to explore the use of the metaverse in the health care setting, and its potential applicability.

  Material and methods. A systematic review of articles published in Spanish and English, related to the metaverse in the field of health, without restriction of dates, was conducted. The following data bases were consulted for the search of the articles: Ovid (Medline), EMBASE, Cochrane, Scopus, WoS, IEEEXplore, CINAHL, Google Scholar and DART-Europe. Two independent reviewers evaluated the methodological quality of the publications, using instruments from the Joanna Briggs Institute. The extraction and synthesis of the articles found with methodological quality were carried out.

  Results. The initial search identified 26 articles. Ten articles were excluded because they were duplicates, another five were discarded as they were not related with the health care setting, and finally seven others were eliminated as they had poor methodological quality. Finally, four articles were included.

  Conclusions. The metaverse poses big challenges in both health and healthcare management. The mixture of real experience with the virtual world experience is disruptive and transforming, and brings new opportunities and challenges for the dynamic transformation of the organizations along with it. Therefore, it is of vital importance to continue studying these practices and their impact on the health care systems.
