Resumen de La investigación sobre el juego como constante histórica

  El interés científico por la actividad jugada, es casi tan antiguo como los intentos de instrumentarlo como valor educativo. El juego ha merecido el interés de pensadores, científicos, literatos, artistas, etc. desde la más remota antigüedad y se mantiene, sin solución de continuidad, si bien con el grave riesgo, en la actualidad, de convertirse más en un valor arqueológico que en un instrumento válido de educación. Es posible apreciar una constante histórica de valoración del juego y de detección de sus funciones socioeducativas; igualmente, los repetidos deseos de instrumentarlo como una acción cultural domesticada y encauzable en beneficio de teorías o posicionamientos políticos de diferentes tipos; sin embargo, el juego se resiste a ser encauzado, no acepta el encasillamiento y, normalmente, desborda la instrumentación política, social y educativa de cualquier tipo a la que quiera sometérsele; quizás el paradigma de esta afirmación sea el propio deporte que, nacido como instrumentación educativa de los juegos populares británicos, se independizó de la educación y de la cultura y evolucionó como fenómeno sociocultural independiente.

  The scientific interest in the activity played is almost as old as the attempts to implement it as an educational value. The game has earned the interest of thinkers, scientists, writers, artists, etc. since the remotest antiquity and has been maintained, without a solution of continuity, although with the serious risk, at present, of becoming more of an archaeological value than a valid educational instrument. It is possible to appreciate a historical constant of evaluation of the game and detection of its socio-educational functions; likewise, the repeated desires to implement it as a domesticated and channelable cultural action for the benefit of theories or political positions of different types; however, the game resists being channeled, it does not accept pigeonholing and, normally, it overflows the political, social and educational instrumentation of any kind to which it wants to be subjected; Perhaps the paradigm of this affirmation is sport itself, which, born as an educational instrumentation of British popular games, became independent from education and culture and evolved as an independent sociocultural phenomenon.
