  Hemos querido valorar en este Estudio el significado de la mujer en la sociedad y Hospicio de Badajoz durante el primer tercio del s. XIX. El Patriarcalismo y la sumisión la definen, siendo capaz de supervivir ante tantas adversidades y obstáculos en unos años especialmente dramáticos que vive la ciudad amenazada por hambre, guerra y epidemia.

  Along this Study, we have evaluated the meaning and positioning of Women inBadajoz, within the society and hospice during the first third of XIX century. Patriarchalism and submission define this context, in which women were able to overcome so many adversities and obstacles, during those particularly difficult years when the city of Badajoz lived under threat of hunger, war and epidemy.
