    Fiesta, tradición, arte, cultura o barbarie. ¿Son las corridas de toro en verdad un rasgo cultural en México como dicen sus fanáticos? ¿Un negocio rentable como dicen algunos empresarios? ¿Un evento cruel y bárbaro como dicen los protectores de animales? A simple vista es un tema que se mantiene en la polémica desde hace años. Y es que tan solo en Baja California, acabar con la fiesta brava ha sido uno de los objetivos de asociaciones y grupos ciudadanos a favor de los animales desde hace años, sin embargo, no fue sino hasta el 2012 con la reapertura de la plaza Calafia cuando estos movimientos comenzaron a hacerse masivos. Además de esto, la asistencia a este tipo de espectáculos también disminuyó, así como las fechas de realización de eventos taurinos. ¿Cuál es el futuro de la plaza Calafia y de la fiesta brava en Mexicali?
