La ronda del mate en Paraná, un espacio territorial para repensar el patrimonio cultural inmaterial

    Se busca identificar el proceso que caracteriza a ‘la ronda del mate’ como elemento cultural que define un espacio territorial en el que el cebar y tomar mate es una práctica portadora de integración y cohesión. La ‘ronda del mate’ contribuye a conformar y relocalizar espacios permeables a prácticas transmitidas de una generación a otra, con funciones y roles que se repiten y actualizan. El objetivo general ha sido describir las motivaciones, usos y costumbres que reproducen quienes forman parte de la práctica de tomar mate en modo de ronda en la ciudad de Paraná (Entre Ríos, Argentina). La metodología se basó en entrevistas semi-estructuradas a informantes y vecinos y entrevistas grupales a vecinos. El método de análisis de datos ha sido la comparación constante y la triangulación de ambas fuentes. Los resultados describen las motivaciones -identificadas en el análisis de testimonios y de prácticas observadas en torno a la ronda del mate- que llevan al encuentro de personas a tomar mate, las características de los grupos que la conforman, los lugares donde se constituyen. Respecto de la discusión, si bien no se han identificado investigaciones compatibles para discutir sobre el objeto de estudio en sí con las características que mencionamos anteriormente, sí en cambio hemos encontrado referencias –sobre todo a partir de los informantes más viajados- que permiten trazar ciertas comparaciones con la ronda del mate con otras regiones de Argentina, países limítrofes y regiones del mundo.

    It seeks to identify the process that characterizes ‘la ronda del mate’ as a cultural element that defines a territorial space in which priming and drinking mate is a practice that supports integration and cohesion. The ‘round of mate contributes to shaping and relocating spaces that are permeable to practices transmitted from one generation to another, with functions and roles that are repeated and updated. The general objective has been to describe the motivations, uses and customs reproduced by those who are part of the practice of drinking mate in round mode in the city of Paraná in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. The methodology was based on semi-structured interviews with characterized informants who can be related to the mate, as well as group interviews with neighbors. The data analysis method has been the constant comparison and triangulation of both sources. The results describe the motivations -identified in the analysis of testimonies and practices observed around the round of mate- that lead to the meeting of people to drink mate, the characteristics of the groups that make up the round, the places where the rounds. Regarding the discussion, although compatible investigations have not been identified to discuss the object of study itself with the characteristics that we mentioned above, instead we have found references -especially from the most traveled informants- that allow us to trace certain comparisons with the round of mate with other regions of Argentina, neighboring countries and regions of the world.
