El reto intercultural de la filosofía: Aprender a dialogar en clave plural

    La filosofía en un mundo altamente globalizado se ve confrontada con toda una serie de diferentes retos interculturales a los cuales debe encararse si quiere estar a la altura de su tiempo. El destino del artículo es repensar y problematizar los supuestos epistémicos y praxeológicos de los modos de enfrentarse a tales retos –cuestión fundamental en y para la filosofía intercultural, entendida ésta como la apertura integral hacia un diálogo de las muchas voces filosóficas, articuladas desde la pluralidad de las culturas. Tal apertura requiere de una actitud intercultural en el quehacer filosófico, la que no sólo se debería traducir en un ensayo de escucha ante el Otro, sino también en la conciencia sobre la particularidad de los horizontes culturales y, con eso, sobre la ineludible céntrica del propio pensar.

    In today’s highly globalized world, philosophy confronts a whole series of different intercultural challenges with which it must deal if it is to keep up with the times. The objective of this article, therefore, is to rethink and problematize the epistemic and praxeological assumptions of the ways in which we can confront these challenges; a fundamental question in, and for, intercultural philosophy, understood as an integral aperture towards a dialogue among the many voices of philosophy, articulated from the plurality of cultures. This opening demands adopting an intercultural attitude in the tasks of philosophy, one that must translate not only into efforts to listen to the Other, but also into raising consciousness of the particularity of cultural horizons and, with this, of the inevitable centrism of one’s own thought.
