    El fin de este trabajo es estudiar la relación epistolar entre José Ortega y Gasset y Max Scheler. Desde esta nueva perspectiva se pueden analizar los intereses y las lecturas efectuadas por ambos pensadores. Su relación puede ser definida como asimétrica. Ortega mantiene una posición crítica con respecto la obra de Scheler. A pesar de dicha distancia publica generalmente trabajos vinculados a la antropología fenomenológica. Por su parte, las cartas muestran una transformación del punto de vista de Scheler con respecto al movimiento fenomenológico. El artículo analiza primero las primeras lecturas y la crítica que realiza Ortega de la obra de Scheler. Seguidamente se presenta el primer contacto epistolar entre ambos. Se indican algunas lagunas epistolares. Se presenta la obra publicada en España. Seguidamente se muestran las divergencias entre la propuesta orteguiana y la antropología de Scheler. Finalmente, se presenta la crítica de Ortega contra la obra de Scheler post mortem.

    The aim of this paper is to study the epistolary relationship between José Ortega y Gasset and Max Scheler. From this new perspective it is possible to analyse the interests and readings carried out by both thinkers. Their relationship can be defined as asymmetrical. Ortega maintains a critical position with respect to Scheler’s work. Despite this distance, he generally publishes works linked to phenomenological anthropology. On the other hand, the letters show a transformation of Scheler’s point of view with respect to the phenomenological movement. The article first analyses Ortega’s first readings and criticism of Scheler’s work. Then the first epistolary contact between the two is presented. Some epistolary gaps are pointed out. The work published in Spain is presented. Then, the divergences between Ortega’s proposal and Scheler’s anthropology are shown. Finally, Ortega’s criticism of Scheler’s work post mortem is presented
