No se puede entender a Lisboa sin Pessoa ni a Pessoa sin Lisboa. En este artículo analizamos esa relación simbiótica desde el punto de vista de un viajero que además es lector apasionado de las obras del poeta y que encontrará en su estancia en la capital portuguesa constantes referencias literarias que le llevarán de vuelta a los libros de Pessoa, enriqueciendo mutuamente su disfrute de la ciudad y su interpretación de la obra del escritor lisboeta. Se subraya el carácter plural de la personalidad del escritor merced a sus múltiples heterónimos y se celebra en imágenes la belleza singular y decadente de la capital portuguesa

Lisbon cannot be understood without Pessoa, nor Pessoa without Lisbon. In this article we analyse this symbiotic relationship from the point of view of a traveller who is also a passionate reader of the poet’s works and who, during his stay in the Portuguese capital, will find constant literary references that will take him back to Pessoa’s books, mutually enriching his enjoyment of the city and his interpretation of the Lisbon writer’s work. The plural character of the writer’s personality is underlined through his many heteronyms and the singular and decadent beauty of the Portuguese capital is celebrated in images.
