La presente investigación aborda el estudio del tipo iconográfico de los preparativos para el sacrificio (Gn 22, 9) desde una perspectiva culturalista que pone en relación las fuentes icónicas con la tradición literaria. A través del método iconográfico-iconológico analiza, de manera diacrónica, la continuidad y variación del tipo iconográfico en el ámbito cultural occidental. El principal objetivo es definir el tipo iconográfico a partir de la exegética patrística y de la literatura midráshica, de cuyo encuentro nacen variaciones tipológicas centradas en la predisposición de Isaac y en su presentación como víctima incólume para el sacrificio. Obras como el tímpano de la puerta del Cordero de San Isidoro de León (c.1100),el Liber Chronicarum, de Jans Jansen Enikel (siglo XV) o de Rembrandt van Rijn (1645) y William Blake (1783) son testigo del interés de artistas y mecenas por este impasse entre el camino y el sacrificio.

This research deals with the study of the iconographic type of the preparations for the sacrifice (Gn 22, 9) from a culturalist perspective that relates the iconic sources with the literary tradition. Through the iconographic-iconological method, it analyzes, in a diachronic way, the continuity and variation of the iconographic type in the Western cultural sphere. The main objective is to define the iconographic type based on patristic exegesis and midrashic literature, from whose encounter typological variations are born, centered on Isaac’s predisposition and his presentation as an unharmed victim for sacrifice. Works such as the tympanum of the Puerta del Cordero of San Isidoro de León (c. 1100), the Liber Chronicarum, of Jans Jansen Enikel (15th century) or by Rembrandt van Rijn (1645) and William Blake (1783) warn of the interest of artists and patrons in this impasse between the journey and sacrifice.
