La cristología de Joseph Ratzinger aborda la libertad de Jesús en diversos lugares de su obra, aunque se presenta en textos breves que pueden prestarse a diferentes interpretaciones. En este sentido, se ha debatido sobre la posible presencia de una orientación monotelita en su pensamiento. Para clarificar esta cuestión, en este artículo se realiza un análisis de esos textos de Ratzinger con el objetivo de determinar la doctrina que contienen y de explicar coherentemente las posibles dificultades interpretativas, en consonancia con la perspectiva teológica del autor alemán.

Joseph Ratzinger’s Christology deals withthe freedom of Jesus at various places in his work,although it is presented in short texts that may lendthemselves to different interpretations. In thisregard, the possible presence of a Monotheliteorientation in his thought has been debated. Inorder to clarify this question, this article analysesthese texts with the aim of determining thedoctrine they contain and of coherently explainingthe possible interpretative difficulties, in line withthe theological perspective of the German author.
