El marco institucional formal de la economía social y solidaria del Ecuador: un enfoque neo-institucionalista económico

    Las instituciones y su estudio toman importancia en el desempeño económico, cómo forma de dar respuestas, desde otra perspectiva a la problemática que presentan las organizaciones, los mercados, el Estado y la sociedad. A través de esta investigación se estudia la estructura formal de la Economía Social y Solidaria del Ecuador; a partir de las teorías del enfoque Neo-institucionalista Económico. La metodología investigativa aplicada es transversal de tipo exploratoria y descriptiva. Como resultado del análisis a partir del enfoque Neo-institucionalista de Douglas North (1993), se evidencia el deterioro de las prácticas neoliberales que dan lugar a la visibilidad que ha tomado la Economía Social, el interés académico, político y social, lo que ha desembocado en nuevas formas de hacer economía como es el caso del Ecuador; su institucionalidad formal se ha podido describir, dentro de la Economía Social y Solidaria, desde su legitimación en el ordenamiento jurídico en el año 2011. La conclusión de esta investigación contrasta el enfoque Neo-institucionalista de North y describe sus limitaciones en la complejidad de las relaciones existentes entre instituciones y desarrollo económico, ésto se debe a que el tipo de instituciones consideradas por este enfoque no evidencian una relación de los valores y las estructuras sociales que operan en los niveles más profundos de la sociedad (Portes, 2006).

    The institutions and their study take on importance in economic performance, as a way of giving answers, from another perspective, to the problems presented by organizations, markets, the State and society. Through this research, the formal structure of the Social and Solidarity Economy of Ecuador is studied; from the theories of the Economic Neo-institutionalist approach. The research methodology applied is cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive. As a result of the analysis from the Neo-institutionalist approach of Douglas North (1993), the deterioration of neoliberal practices that give rise to the visibility that the Social Economy has taken, the academic, political and social interest is evident, which has led to new ways of doing economy as is the case of Ecuador; its formal institutionality has been described, within the Social and Solidarity Economy, since its legitimization in the legal system in 2011. The conclusion of this research contrasts the Neo-institutionalist approach of North and describes its limitations in the complexity of the existing relationships between institutions and economic development, this is because the type of institutions considered by this approach do not show a relationship between values and social structures that operate at the deepest levels of society (Portes, 2006)
