This paper tries to present in some detail the rortyan lecture of Plato, and to criticize it. In order to do it, I collected the sparse considerations Rorty dedicates to this philosopher, and tried to organize them into a framework that allows to understand the whole of rortyan interpretation. Then, I selected three specially interesting critics from the many that possibly could be presented. Those critics will suggest that rortyan interpretation of Plato is not too probable, which raises doubts on the entire rortyan historiographic reconstruction.
