Resumen de Multiculturalidad y Feminismo en la Grecia Antigua

El propósito de esta ponencia se restringe a explorar la existencia de una temprana percepción filosófica de la diversidad cultural que permitió una primera ola de pensamiento feminista en la Grecia clásica. La empresa es relevante debido a la existencia de una larga polémica que fue revivida en el primer año del siglo XXI por los platonistas Amalia González y Giovanni Reale. La filósofa hispana muestra sus reservas sobre el supuesto feminismo del autor de la República y demuestra que conforme se fueron redactando los diálogos de senectud el antifeminismo platónico se incrementó. El filólogo italiano, por su parte, detecta una esencial igualdad entre el hombre y la mujer, en Platón, autor al que considera revolucionario en sus planteamientos cercanos al feminismo. Así las cosas, se parte del estado de la cuestión e ilustra esta polémica. Se recurre al análisis cultural desarrollado por algunos colaboradores de la compilación Filosofía, cultura y diferencia sexual para tratar de desenmarañar la madeja del hilo constituido por la valoración de la mujer en la obra platónica; en particular se trabaja sobre el hincapié que ha hecho Rubí de María Gómez en la relación entre feminismo y análisis cultural y las aportaciones de Graciela Hierro sobre la existencia de mujeres activas en la historia de la filosofía antigua.

The purpose of this paper is limited to exploring the existence of an early philosophical perception of the cultural diversity that allowed a first wave of feminist thought in classical Greece. The subject is relevant because of the existence of a long debate that was renewed in the first year of the XXI century by Platonists such as Amalia González and Giovanni Reale. The Spanish philosopher is not quite certain about the supposed feminism of the author of the Republic and show that, as the late dialogues were being written, platonic antifeminism grew. The Italian philologer finds an essential equality between men and women in Plato, and considers that this author shows revolutionary statements, quite close to feminism Thus, he illustrates the current polemics. He appeals to a cultural analysis developed by some of those who collaborated on the compiled works Philosophy, Culture and Sexual Difference, to untangle the thread that was made up by the value-judgement of women, in the platonic works. Special time is given to Rubí de María Gómez emphasis on the relationship between feminism and cultural analysis and to Graciela Hierros’s contributions on the existence of active women in the history of ancient philosophy.
