  Los sistemas de información de gestión de proyectos (PMIS, por sus siglas en inglés) son instrumentos de software que ayudan a los gerentes a dar seguimiento a los proyectos desde el diseño hasta la ejecución. Un PMIS se desarrolla principalmente para ayudar en la gestión de proyectos. Por lo tanto, algunas cuestiones que vale la pena considerar son cuánto adoptan los sistemas disponibles los métodos de gestión de proyectos descritos en la teoría de la gestión de proyectos, cuánto las aplicaciones de software permiten buscar asistencia en las diferentes fases del ciclo de vida del proyecto y si este alcance es suficiente. En este estudio, se investigaron diferentes tipos de PMIS, como los basados en la web y las aplicaciones de software. El estudio destaca la importancia de los programas de capacitación completos en PMIS para promover el aprendizaje en el lugar de trabajo, el éxito profesional y el éxito de los proyectos. Enfatiza la necesidad de que las organizaciones seleccionen el software de PMIS adecuado en función de la complejidad y el alcance del proyecto, teniendo en cuenta las implicaciones financieras y los requisitos de conocimiento. Además, se recomienda la implementación de una metodología de cambio estructurada que integre los aspectos duros y blandos del cambio para facilitar una gestión del cambio efectiva dentro de las organizaciones basadas en proyectos.

  Project management information systems (PMIS) are software tools that help managers track projects from design to execution. PMISs are primarily developed to assist project management, but it is important to consider how well they adopt project management methods, how much assistance they provide at different phases of the project life cycle, and whether their scope is sufficient. This study investigated different types of PMISs, including web-based and software applications. The implementation of PMISs, their factors, and their effects on different types of projects (construction, manufacturing, IT, R&D, and finance) were also examined. Finally, future research directions were discussed. The study highlights the importance of comprehensive PMIS training programs to promote workplace learning, professional success, and project success. It emphasizes the need for organizations to select suitable PMIS software based on project complexity and scope, considering the financial implications and knowledge requirements. Furthermore, the implementation of a structured change methodology that integrates both the hard and soft aspects of change is recommended to facilitate effective change management within project-based organizations
