La Revista Puertorriqueña de Psicología (reps) cierra el 2023 con su tercer número que incluye la sección especial “Transformaciones y Problemáticas Emergentes en el Mundo del Trabajo”. El 2023 termina con muchas reflexiones ante las diversas crisis que se viven a nivel nacional y mundial. No podemos pasar por alto el estado de guerra que se vive en el medio oriente donde las comunidades más vulnerables están siendo desplazadas y masacradas. Condenamos cualquier acto de violencia que atente contra las vidas y el bienestar de todas las comunidades, independientemente de raza, etnia, y/o religión. Como profesionales de la salud mental, estamos conscientes del daño emocional que acarrean las guerras. El derecho a una vida digna queda aniquilado, dejando un rastro de orfandad, muertes, desesperanza, desarraigos, separaciones y traumas que impactarán generaciones por venir. Alzar nuestras voces y condenar actos de guerra e injusticia es esencial para ubicarnos en el lado correcto de la historia. Es importante no pasar por alto que lo que subyace nuestra contribución científica es el bienestar de nuestras comunidades.

The Puerto Rican Journal of Psychology (reps) ended 2023 with its third issue that includes the special section “Transformations and Emerging Problems in the World of Work.” We have many reflections during the 2023 considering the various crises that are being experienced nationally and globally. We cannot ignore the state of war that exists in the Middle East where the most vulnerable communities are being displaced and massacred. We condemn any act of violence that threatens the lives and well-being of all communities, regardless of race, ethnicity, and/or religion. As mental health professionals, we are aware of the emotional damage that wars bring. The right to a dignified life is annihilated, leaving a trail of orphanhood, deaths, hopelessness, uprooting, separations, and traumas that will impact generations to come. Raising our voices and condemning acts of war and injustice is essential to putting ourselves on the right side of history. It is important not to overlook what underlies our scientific contribution is the well-being of our communities.
