    En pleno siglo XIX, Amalia Domingo Soler (1835-1909) se erige como una figura fundamental para el estudio y difusión del espiritismo, además de convertirse en una de las principales defensoras del librepensamiento y de los derechos humanos de los más necesitados y abandonados por la sociedad decimonónica. A través del estudio de sus Cuentos espiritistas se observan las principales ideas de la doctrina espiritista, relacionadas con temas universales tratados desde la óptica de su tiempo y abordados mediante la crítica social. Así, el objetivo de este artículo es recuperar parte del patrimonio literario español de la época, resaltando la vertiente más narrativa y artística de la autora.

    In the middle of the 19th century Amalia Domingo Soler (1835-1909) stands as a fundamental figure for Spiritism’s study and diffusion. In addition, she became one of the principal advocates of freethinking and human rights for the most needy who were abandoned by the nineteenth century society. Through the study of her Cuentos espiritistas the main ideas of the spiritualist doctrine can be observed. These ideas are related to universal themes and are treated from the perspective of her time and approached by a critical social stance. The objective of this article is to recover part of the Spanish literary heritage of that time and to highlight the most narrative and artistic side of the autor.
