La definitiva abolición del régimen foral en las tres provincias vascongadas acaecido en el año 1876, va a repercutir de una manera muy significativa sobre la juventud del País Vasco. Entre las numerosas disposiciones que la nueva Ley del 21-JUL-1876 va a imponer, destacaremos de manera muy especial aquella que hace referencia a la obligatoriedad de cumplir con el servicio militar. Dicha Ley establecerá que a partir de 1877 la mayoría de los jóvenes vascos acudan a satisfacer las necesidades del Ejército español. Nuestro trabajo de investigación acude directamente a lo que en torno al servicio militar (Leyes de reemplazos, exenciones, prófugos, guerra de Cuba etc.) aconteció en el último cuarto del siglo XIX. Para ello hemos tomado como ejemplo lo ocurrido en la villa guipuzcoana de Andoain entre los años 1876-1900.

The definitive abolition of the foral Regime in the three basque provinces which happened in 1876, is going to have a significative repercution over the joung population of the Basque Country. Among the many dispositions that the new low from 21-st July 1876 is going to impose, we'll detail in a very especial way the one which refers about the obligatory of military service. This law says that beginning 1877, all joung boys of the Basque Country have to satisfay the needs of the Spanish Army. Our investiga/ion goes directly to study what happened around the military service (Army laws, fugitives, Cuban war, etc.) during the last quarter of the XIXth Century. As an example, we have take that happened in Andoain (a small village of Guipuzcoa) between 1876-1900.

1876. urtean euskal hiru lurraldeek ezagutu zuten foru sistemaren behin behineko deuzestapenak, Euskalerriko gazteengan garrantzi handia izango zuten ondorioak ekarri zituen. 1876-ko Uztailaren 21-ean inpostutako legeak arau desberdin ugariei erantzuten zien, baina guzti hoietatik derrigorrezko soldadutza bete behar zenaz mintzatzen zaiguna bakarrik gogoratuko dugu. Lege honen arabera 1877. urtetik aurrera euskal gazte-gizon asko espainiar Ejerzitoaren beharrak asetzera irten behar izan zuen. XIX. mendeko azken laurdenean soldadutzaren inguruan gertatutakoa (Militar legeak, ezentzioak, iheslariak, Kubako gerra e.a.) zuzen zuzen aztertzera abiatu gera. Adibide gisa Gipuzkoako Andoain Udalerria 1876-1900 urte bitartean ikertu dugu.
