De humor negro y crítica política: la recepción del enlace de Alfonso XIII en la prensa satírica catalana

    Aunque la prensa madrileña elogiara la entereza del rey Alfonso XIII y respaldara su imagen tras el atentado sufrido el día de su boda, no todas las publicaciones mostraron esta visión del acontecimiento. Con motivo del enlace, desde la prensa satírica catalana se lanzaron incisivas críticas contra el gobierno central, y es que tan solo habían pasado seis meses desde los ataques perpetrados por militares contra la redacción del ¡Cu-Cut! y La Veu de Catalunya, y en ese mismo año se había aprobado la Ley de Jurisdicciones. Muchas de las bromas recurrieron al absurdo y a situaciones disparatadas para trasladar sus críticas de una forma velada, aunque, por el contrario, otras llegaron incluso a parodiar el atentado sufrido por los reyes.

    Although the Madrid press praised the King’s Alfonso XIII fortitude and supported his image after the attack on his wedding day, not all publications took this view of the event. On the occasion of the marriage, the Catalan satirical press launched incisive criticisms against the central government, since only six months had passed since the attacks perpetrated by soldiers against the editorial offices of Cu-Cut! and La Veu de Catalunya, and in the same year the Law of Jurisdictions had been passed. Many of the jokes resorted to absurdity and absurd situations to convey their criticisms in a veiled manner, although, on the contrary, others even parodied the attack on the King and Queen.
