En la Edad Media y, sobre todo, en la Moderna, fueron surgiendo varios señoríos en la Tierra de Ciudad Rodrigo, que se desgajaron de las tierras de realengo. Uno de ellos fue la villa de El Bodón, surgido a finales del siglo XIV, por donación del rey Enrique III a Diego López de Zúñiga. A principios del siglo XV este vendió la villa a los Herrera. Por enlace matrimonial de Ana de Herrera con Alfonso Pimentel, a principios del siglo XVI pasó a integrarse en el condado de Benavente, junto a otras villas de Extremadura, en cuyo dominio se mantuvo hasta la abolición de los señoríos en 1837.

In the Middle Ages and, above all, in the Modern Ages, various lordships emerged in the Land of Ciudad Rodrigo, which broke away from the lands of realengo. One of them was the village of El Bodón, which emerged at the end of the 14th century, by donation of King Enrique III to Diego López de Zúñiga. At the beginning of the 15th century, he sold the town to the Herrera family. Due to the marriage of Ana de Herrera with Alfonso Pimentel, at the beginning of the 16th century it became part of the county of Benavente, along with other villages in Extremadura, in whose domain it remained until the abolition of the manors in 1837.
