Análisis de la legibilidad de la información escrita aportada por los museos etnográficos del Principado de Asturias

    El objetivo del artículo es analizar el nivel de legibilidad de la información escrita (cartelería tradicional y páginas web) aportada por los museos etnográficos del Principado de Asturias. Para ello, se ha realizado un estudio de tipo observacional, transversal y descriptivo. Se calculó el nivel de legibilidad de la información escrita aportada por los museos incluidos en la Red de Museos Etnográficos del Principado de Asturias (REDMEDA), empleando dos índices de legibilidad lingüística (Índice de lecturabilidad de Fernández Huerta y el Índice de perspicuidad de Szigriszt-Pazos). La muestra estuvo compuesta por 15 museos: se analizaron 78 cartelas expositivas, 137 paneles, 3 hojas de sala, 10 folletos y 4 textos en otros formatos. Se analizaron 15 páginas web propias y 14 de la página corporativa de REDMEDA. La mayoría de los textos presentaron un nivel de dificultad lectora aceptable y adecuado para el público general. Los textos de apoyo específicos superaron el nivel normal de dificultad, resultando más indicados para usuarios especializados. Los folletos informativos y las páginas Web son un complemento muy útil, aunque presentaron un nivel de facilidad lectora superior al de los textos de apoyo ubicados en las instalaciones de los propios museos.

    The aim of the article is to analyse the level of legibility of the written information (traditional signage and Web pages) provided by the ethnographic museums of the Principado de Asturias.To this end, an observational, cross-sectional, descriptive study has been carried. The level of readability of the written information provided by the museums included in the Network of Ethnographic Museums of the Principality of Asturias (REDMEDA) was calculated using two linguistic readability indices (Fernández Huerta’s Readability Index and Szigriszt-Pazos’s Perspicuity Index). The sample consisted of 15 museums: 78 exhibition posters, 137 panels, 3 room sheets, 10 leaflets and 4 texts in other formats were analysed. Fifteen Web pages and 14 REDMEDA corporate Web pages were analysed.The majority of the texts presented an acceptable level of reading difficulty and were suitable for the general public. The specific support texts exceeded the normal level of difficulty, being more suitable for specialised users. The information leaflets and Web pages are a very useful complement, although they were easier to read than the support texts located in the museums themselves.
