  Este trabajo se realiza en aras a contribuir con la historia del constitucionalismo español. En concreto, analizamos el devenir del artículo que consagra la protección de los consumidores y usuarios en nuestra Carta Magna. Vamos a poner de manifiesto como se sucedieron las reformas sobre dicho precepto desde que se presentó el Anteproyecto de la Constitución española, destacándose las diferentes aportaciones doctrinales que fueron realizándose. Asimismo, pondremos de manifiesto la influencia que el resto de las constituciones europeas, así como el derecho internacional, ejercieron sobre la redacción del que se convertiría en el artículo 51 de la Constitución.

  This paper contributes to the history of Spanish constitutionalism. Specifically, we analyze the evolution of the article that enshrines the protection of consumers and users in our Magna Carta. We will show how the reforms to this precept have taken place since the Preliminary Draft of the Spanish Constitution was presented, highlighting the different doctrinal contributions that have been made. We will also highlight the influence that the rest of the European constitutions, as well as international law, exerted on the drafting of what would become article 51 of the Constitution.
