Narrativas turísticas: en torno al legado colonial afrodescendiente en la ciudad de Buenos Aires

    Las huellas culturales africanas se registran en la ciudad de Buenos Aires desde la etapa colonial. Sin embargo, al momento de reconocer su incidencia en el desarrollo de la ciudad, las nociones de invisibilidad y desaparición prevalecen por sobre las ideas de permanencia y continuidad. En las narrativas turísticas porteñas, los relatos del crisol de raza y de la ciudad europea, se encuentran fuertemente instalados. Desde el supuesto de que “en la Argentina no hay negros” se construyó una imagen de sociedad homogénea blanca y europea, que no se condice con la diversidad cultural que caracterizó la matriz multiétnica y pluricultural del país. Este trabajo se propone analizar algunas de las narrativas turísticas vigentes, contrastando las mismas con los datos obtenidos en documentos, base de datos, literatura actualizada y entrevistas. A tal fin, se problematiza la noción de tradiciones inventadas, que cómo recurso supletorio suele ser utilizado en los relatos turísticos respecto del patrimonio afrodescendiente.

    African cultural traces have been registered in the city of Buenos Aires since the colonial stage. However, when recognizing its contribution to the development of the city, the notions of invisibility and disappearance prevail over the ideas of permanence and continuity. In Buenos Aires tourist narratives, the stories of the melting pot and the European city are strongly installed. From the assumption that "in Argentina there are no Afro-descendants; an image of a white and European homogeneous society was built, but it does not agree with the cultural diversity that characterized the multiethnic and multicultural matrix of the country. This work intends to analyze some of the current tourist narratives, contrasting them with the data obtained in documents and literature. Therefore, this paper problematizes the notion of invented traditions as a supplementary resource, which is usually used in tourist reports regarding Afro-descendants.
