Percepciones sobre el Ministerio del catequista: tensión entre el servicio y el poder

    El artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación cualitativa sobre las percepción de los catequistas de base de la diócesis de Valparaíso-Chile sobre el Ministerio laical del catequista. Desde el análisis de los relatos se examinan sus diferentes visiones y percepciones del Ministerio en relación con su valoración en el contexto de una Iglesia sinodal, el aporte del Ministerio del catequista a las prácticas catequéticas en las diferentes comunidades y las paradojas de un ministerio que se puede comprender al modo de servicio, o bien, se puede instalar como una estructura de poder que viene a perpetuar el clericalismo. Los principales resultados dan cuenta de un Ministerio que se desarrolle desde las coordenadas del servicio y que no se confunda con el autoritarismo ni con la hegemonía del saber ni el hacer. A su vez, se necesita que promueva la comunión, gestione la catequesis y cree instancia de formación integral para los catequistas de base, al mismo tiempo es importante que ejerza un buen discernimiento y se disponga a formarse permanentemente para originar un saber compartido.

    This article presents the results of qualitative research on the perceptions of the catechists of the diocese of Valparaiso-Chile regarding the lay ministry of Catechist. From the analysis of their accounts, different visions and perceptions of the Ministry are examined in the context of a synodal Church, the contribution of the catechist’s ministry to catechetical practices in the different communities and the paradoxes of a ministry that can be understood as a service or installed as a power structure that comes to perpetuate clericalism. The principal results give evidence of a Ministry that develops from the concept of service and is not confused with authoritarianism or with the domination of knowledge nor action. At the same time, it is necessary to promote communion, manage catechesis and create an instance of integral formation for basic catechists, while also exercising discernment and an openness to ongoing formation in order to promote a shared knowledge.
