Resumen de Decentralized trajectories: second-level bargaining and the economicfinancial structure of enterprises in the Brescian district

Niccolò Casnici, Andrea Signoretti, Marco Castellani

  • The article presents a research on second-level industrial relations in the Brescia manufactur-ing district, one of the main industrial areas in Italy. By using a multivariate quantitative meth-odology, the study analyses the content of 643 company-level agreements, which have been signed by 319 enterprises from 2016 to 2019. The main purpose of the research is to build a first typology of companies which considers both their economic and organisational character-istics, together with the decentralized industrial relations that they tend to generate over time. The analyses identified four groups of companies with different characteristics, structures and strategies. Overall, in addition to discussing the high level of heterogeneity of decentralized industrial relations in the Brescian district, the Authors will present the best practices, which deserve the closer attention from policy makers.
