    El presente estudio tiene como finalidad analizar el desarrollo turístico de la comuna Ponce Quilotoa en Ecuador, centrándose en sus potencialidades, los factores que influyen en su desarrollo y la identificación de estrategias para fortalecer su potencial turístico. Mediante una investigación cualitativa, apoyándonos con el método fenomenológico hermenéutico se recopilaron datos teóricos que se sustentaron a través de dos entrevistas en profundidad, para ello, tomamos una muestra de dos participantes claves, una con el administrador del restaurante Princesa Toa y otra con una moradora y trabajadora local. El análisis de contenido se empleó para organizar y categorizar los datos cualitativos recopilados en las entrevistas. Se identificaron tendencias y patrones en las respuestas de los participantes, lo que permitió extraer conclusiones importantes, destacando el crecimiento significativo del turismo en los últimos años, la importancia de la colaboración entre el gobierno local y las comunidades indígenas, así como la necesidad de abordar desafíos en términos de la inversión en infraestructuras y la protección del medio ambiente. Finalmente, se sugieren estrategias como la diversificación de las ofertas turísticas y la promoción del turismo sostenible para fortalecer –aún más- el potencial turístico de la comuna Ponce Quilotoa.

    The purpose of this study is to analyze the tourism development of the Ponce Quilotoa commune in Ecuador, focusing on its potential, the factors that influence its development and the identification of strategies to strengthen its tourism potential. Through qualitative research, supported by the hermeneutic phenomenological method, theoretical data was collected that was supported through two in-depth interviews. To do this, we took a sample of two key participants, one with the manager of the Princesa Toa restaurant and the other with a resident. and local worker. Content analysis was used to organize and categorize the qualitative data collected in the interviews. Trends and patterns were identified in the participants' responses, allowing important conclusions to be drawn, highlighting the significant growth of tourism in recent years, the importance of collaboration between local government and Indigenous communities, as well as the need to address challenges in terms of investment in infrastructure and environmental protection. Finally, strategies such as the diversification of tourism offers, and the promotion of sustainable tourism are suggested to strengthen – even more – the tourism potential of the Ponce Quilotoa commune.
