  • The doped dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid (DBSA) with polypyrrole (PPy) and also incorporated an increasing concentration of Y_(2)O_(3) to obtainthe composites of PPy-DBSA-Y_(2)O_(3) via chemical polymerization technique. The PPy-DBSA-Y_(2)O_(3) composites formation were confirmedby interaction between PPy-DBSA and Y_(2)O_(3)-particles utilizing Raman spectroscopy. The SEM micrographs show that the composites arein the form of lengthened chains; increase in the particles size as equated with pristine PPy and Y_(2)O_(3) was also studied. Thermal stabilityof PPy-DBSA- Y_(2)O_(3) composites was improved as enhanced the load of Y_(2)O_(3)-particles. The increase in DC conductivity by mixing Y_(2)O_(3) into PPy-DBSA at all temperatures showed the three-dimensional Mott’s variable range hopping model. Density of localized states, hoppingdimension as well as activation energy are computed and found to be affected due to the presence of Y_(2)O_(3) in DBSA-PPy. The ESR of Y_(2)O_(3) (∼12Ω), PPy (∼11.80Ω), PPy-DBSA (∼11.30Ω) and PPy-DBSA-8%Y_(2)O_(3) composite (∼9.50Ω). EIS results confirm that thePPy-DBSA-8% Y_(2)O_(3) composite with a low value of impedance gives a maximum value of electrical conductivity.
