    L a producción del presente artículo deviene de una investigación de tipo descriptiva y con diseño documental - bibliográfico, cuyos elementos configuraron la concepción metodológica asumida para desarrollar este articulo con el objetivo de hacer un a cercamiento a la Constitución como instrumento innovador y su papel en la estructura básica del Estado ecuatoriano. En base a los resultados obtenidos con el análisis de los datos e informaciones de orden documental, se puede enunciar que la Constitución d e la República del Ecuador se consagra como instrumento moderno e innovador, con un rol fundamental en su estructura y funcionamiento como Estado social de derecho y justicia mediante el Buen Vivir como principio rector de las relaciones de gobierno y de c onvivencia ciudadana.

    The production of this article is the result of a descriptive research with a documentary - bibliographic design, whose elements configured the methodological conception assumed to develop this article with the objective of making an approach to the Constitution as an innovative instrument and its role in the basic structure of the Ec uadorian State. Based on the results obtained with the analysis of data and documentary information, it can be stated that the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador is consecrated as a modern and innovative instrument, with a fundamental role in its stru cture and functioning as a social State of law and justice through the Good Living as a guiding principle of government relations and citizen coexistence.
