    La Ley 17/2021, de 15 de diciembre, modifica nuestro Código civil para que los animales dejen de tener el estatuto jurídico de cosas, razón por la cual retoca sus preceptos en materia de crisis matrimoniales. También modfica el artículo 605 de la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil declarando la inembargabilidad de los animales de compañía. Finalmente se modifica el artículo 111 de la Ley Hipotecaria en relación con la hipoteca de los animales.

    Act 17/2021, of December 15, amended the Spanish Civil Code so that animals no longer have the legal status of things or goods, which is the reason why it modified its provisions on the handling matrimonial crises. . It also amended artícle 605 of the Civil Procedure Act, declaring the unseizability of pets. Finally, it also amended article 111 of the Mortgage Act, concerning the submission animals to the execution of mortgages per se because they live in the house or farm submitted to mortgage.
