    This article aims to study and analyze the role of the informal caregiver. Caring for a family member full-time, but also understanding who takes care of the caregiver. An analysis will be carried out to verify whether there is support for the caregiver, whether social or emotional, and whether caregivers feel supported by the system. It is also crucial to understand the feelings of caregivers, understand what they feel, whether what they do for their family member is enough, or whether they consider there are measures, or lack thereof, to make them feel more supported. The methodology used is of a descriptive qualitative nature, since the interview applied was analyzed and described. The semi-structured interviews were applied to informal caregivers in Castelo Branco. The study sample is made up of 6 informal caregivers, who care or have cared for their family members, children, parents or spouse. After analyzing the semi-structured interview, a reflection was created, so that through this study, it is possible to think about what each caregiver feels. And compare all the experiences reported in the interview questions. It is also important to reflect on the political measures that exist, and what could be done to improve the lives of both caregivers and the people being cared for, and if caregivers do not need care themselves?

    O presente artigo tem como objetivo estudar e analisar o papel do cuidador informal. O cuidar de um familiar a tempo inteiro, mas perceber também, quem cuida do cuidador. Foi realizada uma análise de forma a verificar se existem apoios para o cuidador, sejam eles sociais ou emocionais e se os cuidadores se sentem apoiados pelo sistema. Torna-se também crucial percecionar os sentimentos dos cuidadores, entender o que sentem, se o que fazem pelo seu familiar é suficiente, ou se consideram existir medidas, ou a falta delas, de modo que se sintam mais apoiados. A metodologia utilizada, é de cariz qualitativa descritiva, uma vez que a entrevista aplicada foi analisada e descrita. As entrevistas semiestruturadas, foram aplicadas a cuidadores informais de Castelo Branco. A amostra do estudo, é de 6 cuidadores informais, que cuidam ou cuidaram dos seus familiares, filhos, pais ou cônjuge. Após a análise da entrevista semiestruturada foi elaborada uma reflexão, de modo que através deste estudo, se possa pensar sobre o que cada cuidador sente. E comparar todas as vivências relatadas nas questões das entrevistas. Importante também, refletir sobre as medidas políticas que existem, e o que poderia ser feito para melhorar, tanto a vida dos cuidadores, como das pessoas cuidadas, e se os cuidadores não precisam, também eles, de cuidados?
