    Carolina Michaëlis de Vasconcelos es una de las romanistas más reconocidas de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX y el primer cuarto del siglo XX. Especializada en la historia, cultura y literatura de la Península Ibérica de la Edad Media y la temprana modernidad y autora de numerosos estudios de referencia sobre la literatura portuguesa, prestó también especial atención al romancero hispánico. Fue un tema de investigación constante en toda su trayectoria, desde la edición del Romancero del Cid en 1875, que fue una de sus primeras publicaciones académicas, hasta la obra cumbre en esta materia que representan los Estudos sobre o Romanceiro Peninsular. Romances Velhos em Portugal de 1907-1909. El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un recorrido exhaustivo por las publicaciones de Carolina Michaëlis sobre el romancero, tanto las que se dedican de forma monográfica a este tema como aquellas en las que lo abordan de forma más tangencial. Este recorrido permitirá observar cuáles fueron sus principales puntos de interés, qué contribuciones realizó a la materia y cómo sus ideas fueron evolucionando a lo largo del tiempo. Además, para las obras de mayor calado, se detallará cuál fue la recepción por parte de la crítica del momento y el peso que siguen teniendo, hoy por hoy, en este campo de estudio.

    Carolina Michaëlis de Vasconcelos is one of the most recognized Romanists of the second half of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. Specialized in the history, culture, and literature of the Iberian Peninsula of the Middle Ages and early modernity, and author of numerous important studies on Portuguese literature, she also paid special attention to the Hispanic balladry. It was a constant subject of research throughout her career, from the edition of the Romancero del Cid in 1875, which was one of her first academic publications, to the pinnacle of her work in this field represented by the Estudos sobre o Romanceiro Peninsular. Romances Velhos em Portugal from 1907-1909. The objective of this paper is to provide a comprehensive overview of Carolina Michaëlis' publications on Hispanic balladry, including both those dedicated monographically to this subject and those that address it more tangentially. This survey will allow us to observe what were her main points of interest, what contributions she made to the field, and how her ideas evolved throughout the time. In addition, for the most significant works, it will be detailed the critical reception at the time and the weight they still have today in this field of study.
