    La ucronía como punto de encuentro entre la u(/dis)topía y la historia alternativa se conjuga en este ensayo mediante la aplicación teórica de los media studies y el análisis de sus diferentes manifestaciones prácticas en relación con ambas vertientes. El objetivo del presente artículo es dejar patente que ambas signifi caciones del conjunto ucrónico no son excluyentes sino convergentes en el espectro ficcional, demostrable mediante la aplicación de una óptica evolutiva y comparativa al desarrollo de los ejemplos propuestos en el texto. Todo esto se demostrará a través de la aplicación al estudio de las definiciones y caracterizaciones aportadas por Catherine Gallagher y Karen Hellekson, partiendo del concepto acuñado por el filósofo francés Charles Renouvier en el siglo XIX.

    Uchronia as a meeting point between u(/dis)topia and alternate history is conjugated in this essay through the theorical application of media studies and the analysis of their diff erent practical manifestations related to both aspects. The aim of this essay is to make clear that both signifi cations of the uchronical whole are not excluding but convergent through the application of an evolutive and comparative optic. All this will be demonstrated through the application of the defi nitions and characterizations provided by Catherine Gallagher and Karen Hellekson to the study, starting with the concept coined by French philosopher Charles Renouvier in the 19th century
