    Este texto se centra en la evolución y uso de los espacios donde se realizaban las fiestas del Colegio Imperial que, según la práctica recogida en la documentación, eran esencialmente la iglesia, la capilla de la Congregación de la Inmaculada y el trazado urbano. En estos espacios rastrearemos la impronta festiva y el ambiente cultural que ambas instituciones compartieron, tomando como punto de partida el legado de la Emperatriz María de Austria, quien hizo «Imperial» al Colegio de los jesuitas en Madrid (1603). Buscamos analizar la configuración arquitectónica del conjunto comparándolo con fundaciones jesuíticas previas y repertoriar a los artistas que orbitaron en torno a la Compañía tanto para educarse como para participar en sus empresas decorativas, pictóricas y efímeras. Por último, examinaremos el uso de los espacios teatrales de la iglesia y el Colegio, de acuerdo con las relaciones y otros textos que dejaron testimonio de las celebraciones y su escenografía, aquí presentados como evidencias cruciales de la actividad cortesana, intelectual y artística de la Orden en la monarquía hispánica.

    This text focuses on the evolution and use of the spaces where the Imperial College festivities were held, which, according to the practice recorded in the documentation, were essentially the church, the chapel of the Congregation of the Immaculate Conception and the surrounding urban outline. In these spaces we will trace the festive imprint and the cultural environment that both institutions shared, taking as a starting point the legacy of the Empress Maria of Austria, who made the Jesuit College in Madrid "Imperial" (1603). We seek to establish the reasons for the courtly and festive prominence of the institution, analyze the architectural configuration of the building by comparing it with previous Jesuit foundations, and make a survey of the artists who orbited the Society both to educate themselves and to be in charge of their decorative, pictorial and ephemeral endevours. Finally, we will examine the use of the College's theatrical spaces according to the «relaciones» and other texts that commented on these scenographic events, here presented as crucial evidences of the courtly, intellectual and artistic activity of the Order in the Hispanic Monarchy.
